My interview was scheduled at 7:15 am. I had reached the consulate at 6:15 am. The security asked us to start forming queues for the interview at 6:30 am. We were called inside the consulate by 6:45am. While entering the consulate, the officers checked for passport and NVC interview appointment letter.
We were given token numbers as we entered inside, according to our preferred language for interview. There were two rounds to complete the interview process. We were called on the window as per our token number.
First round:
The aim of this round was to collect original documents from us. The officer asked the following questions:
1) Who is calling you?
2) How long have you been married?
3) Have you been to US before? If yes, how many times, on what visa and for how long?
4) Do you have your husband's financial documents from IRS?
5) Is this yours and your husband's first marriage?
Asked me to handover NVC interview letter, stamped DS-260, passport, marriage certificate, PCC, birth certificate.
Second round:
Officer asked me following questions:
1) Who is calling you?
2) What does your husband do?
3) Who does he live with?
4) Some questions about financial documents
5) Is your marriage arranged or love?
6) Who introduced you?
7) Show me your wedding pictures.
8) How many people attended the wedding?
9) How many times did you both meet after the wedding?
10) How long was your longest stay in US?
11) Did you visit any other country? For how long?
The officer wanted to confirm three domains:
1) Is your marriage fake or real?
2) Can your husband financially sponsor you?
3) Have you overstayed on your visa?
The officer approved my visa and explained the processes to follow once I receive my passport.
